A costly weekend of dealing drags the Patriots to a C+.

Nobody else had Jamaree Caldwell anywhere near the Round 6 slot. The Patriots did, by 121 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Call it a C+ and check back in two years.

Simon falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. With quarterback unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.

If Shavon Revel Jr. and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
