Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Cardinals did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Cardinals did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to quarterback, which was the need that mattered most. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

The Lassiter value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The Robinson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In slot 4 they get a difference-maker at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick27 Rnd1 Darius Robinson
A conviction pick on Darius Robinson at Round 1, Pick 27 that the board grades a round light. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick35 Rnd2 Jackson Powers-Johnson
Fair-plus on Jackson Powers-Johnson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick66 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
They took Michael Hall Jr. at par in pick 66, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick71 Rnd3 Kamari Lassiter
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kamari Lassiter in No. 71. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick90 Rnd3 MarShawn Lloyd
A straight-up fair deal on MarShawn Lloyd at the 90th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick104 Rnd4 Maason Smith
No edge and no loss on Maason Smith in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
