ecarrington061 DRAFTING FOR THEEagles
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall
B
ValueB-
NeedB+

FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Eagles for Goosby: B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Eagles were there to profit. Trevor Goosby, the No. 12 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 167. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. They will need Jackson Jr. to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Matayo Uiagalelei
In slot 10 they get a double-digit-sack hope. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick41
Rnd2
Kenyatta Jackson Jr.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Kenyatta Jackson Jr. well ahead of where he belonged. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick97
Rnd3
Zeke Berry
Zeke Berry at pick No. 97 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick113
Rnd4
Quincy Rhodes Jr.
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Quincy Rhodes Jr.. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick149
Rnd5
Nico Iamaleava
Nico Iamaleava in No. 149 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick158
Rnd5
Robert Fitzgerald
A reasonable price with a little left over, Robert Fitzgerald in pick 158. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick167
Rnd5
Trevor Goosby
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick231
Rnd7
Eli Finley
Nothing to complain about; Eli Finley went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick234
Rnd7
Donovan Jones
Donovan Jones at the 234th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
