ecarrington061 DRAFTING FOR THECommanders
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall

A solid, sensible weekend for the Commanders: B. The Commanders put a flag in the ground for Andrew Sprague, 20 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.
The McClain steal is the beam this whole class leans on. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
The skill positions did well by the weekend.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Cam Coleman
In the 8th pick they get a weapon on the perimeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick40
Rnd2
Nick Marsh
Nick Marsh at pick No. 40 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick72
Rnd3
Andrew Sprague
Andrew Sprague in Round 3, Pick 8 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick109
Rnd4
Jaylen McClain
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jaylen McClain in No. 109. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick146
Rnd5
A.J. Harris
A.J. Harris at slot 146 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick187
Rnd6
CJ Bailey
CJ Bailey in the 187th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
Pick229
Rnd7
Andrew Rappleyea
Andrew Rappleyea in the 229th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
