Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B-
ValueC NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
The Cardinals bet the future on Maiava. The board says B-.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Maiava is the Cardinals' quarterback, full stop. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

Reaching for Carter Jr. left real value on the table behind him. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Landing Okunlola that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Jayden Maiava
In No. 7 they get a long-term answer under center, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick38 Rnd2 Nate Frazier
This one needs a full-page explanation: Nate Frazier in pick No. 38, miles early. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick39 Rnd2 Charlie Becker
Charlie Becker at slot 39 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick69 Rnd3 Terrance Carter Jr.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Terrance Carter Jr. well ahead of where he belonged. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick105 Rnd4 Samson Okunlola
They let Samson Okunlola come to them and pounced at pick 105. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick145 Rnd5 Koi Perich
A tidy bit of business in the 145th overall pick, where Koi Perich graded well above the range. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick185 Rnd6 Joseph Borjon
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Joseph Borjon. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick186 Rnd6 Jermaine Mathews Jr.
Jermaine Mathews Jr. is a better player than the 186th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A minor itch, scratched.
