Draft Grade — 49ers

Best value of the weekend goes to the 49ers for Viliamu-Asa: B.

Thirty-one other rooms let Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa slide, and the 49ers were the ones holding the card at slot 96. Highway robbery.

Reaching for Sategna III left real value on the table behind him. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Kewan Lacy
In pick No. 32 they get an every-down engine for the run game, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick64 Rnd2 KJ Duff
Steal is underselling it; KJ Duff at the 64th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick96 Rnd3 Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa
They will replay Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa at slot 96 for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick133 Rnd4 Dylan Raiola
They did well to land Dylan Raiola in Round 4, Pick 32, just ahead of his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick170 Rnd5 Isaiah Sategna III
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Isaiah Sategna III. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick208 Rnd6 Earnest Greene III
They took Earnest Greene III at par in No. 208, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick252 Rnd7 Braden Awls
Somehow Braden Awls was still sitting there in the 252nd overall pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
