Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Larceny in slot 257 lands the Packers a B, Siereveld and all.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Austin Siereveld got past him. The Packers do not have to explain a thing at the Round 7 slot. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

They will need Womack to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick Analysis
Pick52 Rnd2 Mark Fletcher Jr.
They read the board right and Mark Fletcher Jr. was the payoff at the 52nd overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick84 Rnd3 Da'Shawn Womack
Da'Shawn Womack in the 84th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick120 Rnd4 Dezz Ricks
Dezz Ricks at the Round 4 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick146 Rnd5 Drew Mestemaker
The board fumbled Drew Mestemaker all the way to pick No. 146, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick236 Rnd7 Whit Weeks
Whit Weeks at No. 236 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick254 Rnd7 Jyaire Hill
Steal is underselling it; Jyaire Hill at slot 254 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick257 Rnd7 Austin Siereveld
Taking Austin Siereveld in pick 257 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
