Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
The Dolphins bet the future on Mensah. The board says B-.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Dolphins spent their marquee pick on Darian Mensah, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

The Johnson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Little Jr. falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Darian Mensah
In slot 3 they get their guy under center for the next decade. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Greg Johnson
They left a pile of value on the table to take Greg Johnson this early at pick No. 34. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick65 Rnd3 Princewill Umanmielen
A wild overpay on Princewill Umanmielen in No. 65, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick105 Rnd4 Raylen Wilson
Raylen Wilson in pick 105 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick139 Rnd5 Earl Little Jr.
The board had Earl Little Jr. higher than the Round 5 slot, and the safety fell to them anyway. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick153 Rnd5 Kam Robinson
Good price on Kam Robinson in Round 5, Pick 16, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick181 Rnd6 Earnest Greene III
They reached a country mile for Earnest Greene III at the 181st pick, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick247 Rnd7 Jordan Faison
No drama and no debate, Jordan Faison went about where he belonged in the 247th overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick255 Rnd7 Jay'Vion Cole
They went early on Jay'Vion Cole in the Round 7 slot, and the value did not follow. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
