Overall B-
ValueD+ NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
Quarterback settled, Mensah in the fold, and a B- for the Dolphins.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Dolphins spent their marquee pick on Darian Mensah, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

They will need Mensah to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. However the rest shakes out, Johnson at that price is a win they earned. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Darian Mensah
In the 5th overall pick they get a long-term answer under center, a steep price for the projection. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick36 Rnd2 Jadan Baugh
A straight-up fair deal on Jadan Baugh at Round 2, Pick 4, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick67 Rnd3 Princewill Umanmielen
They left a pile of value on the table to take Princewill Umanmielen this early at slot 67. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick103 Rnd4 Greg Johnson
They robbed the room for Greg Johnson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick139 Rnd5 Earl Little Jr.
A safety of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick156 Rnd5 Jayden Jackson
Jayden Jackson at No. 156 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick184 Rnd6 Earnest Greene III
A wild overpay on Earnest Greene III in the 184th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The roster fit checks out.
Pick246 Rnd7 Sammy Omosigho
Sammy Omosigho at pick No. 246 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick255 Rnd7 Cody Jackson
Cody Jackson at the 255th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
