The Saints finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B-.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Will Echoles, the No. 14 name on the board, stolen at pick 73.

Whatever Julian Sayin becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They are betting Tuioti proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They will regret leaving offensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Julian Sayin
In slot 7 they get a passer to set the clock by. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38 Rnd2 Teitum Tuioti
They left a pile of value on the table to take Teitum Tuioti this early at Round 2, Pick 6. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick73 Rnd3 Will Echoles
They will replay Will Echoles at the 73rd overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick110 Rnd4 Mike Matthews
They paid a round early for Mike Matthews in No. 110, more than the board wanted. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick144 Rnd5 DJ McKinney
The board had DJ McKinney higher than slot 144, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick185 Rnd6 Drayk Bowen
The board fumbled Drayk Bowen all the way to Round 6, Pick 4, and they scooped it up. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
