Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureD
The Dolphins turned the phones into found money: B.

The Dolphins did not so much draft Adepoju Adebawore as overpay for him, 53 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

However the rest shakes out, Stone at that price is a win they earned. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick36 Rnd2 LaNorris Sellers
They liked LaNorris Sellers enough to skip the value, taking him in the 36th pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick67 Rnd3 David Stone
David Stone in the Round 3 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick104 Rnd4 Ashton Hampton
Circle this one: Ashton Hampton at pick No. 104 is a fall that decides a draft. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick138 Rnd5 Tony Rojas
Tony Rojas at No. 138 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick155 Rnd5 Adepoju Adebawore
Adepoju Adebawore in slot 155 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick186 Rnd6 Jordan Marshall
Somehow Jordan Marshall was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 5, and they pounced on premier running back value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick244 Rnd7 Micah Mays Jr.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Micah Mays Jr. well ahead of where he belonged. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick254 Rnd7 Kamari Wilson
A safety of that caliber at slot 254 is the definition of value, full stop. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
