Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B
ValueB- NeedA TradesA+ FutureF
Best value of the weekend goes to the Commanders for Johnson: B.

Somebody in pick No. 70 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Commanders sat still while Jamari Johnson, the No. 32 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. No fireworks, but a solid B.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They are betting Bellamy proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Cam Coleman
In Round 1, Pick 2 they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick70 Rnd3 Jamari Johnson
Jamari Johnson in No. 70 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick111 Rnd4 Luke Montgomery
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Luke Montgomery in the Round 4 slot. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick145 Rnd5 Jayden Bellamy
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jayden Bellamy well ahead of where he belonged. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick188 Rnd6 Quay'sheed Scott
Value with a capital V on Quay'sheed Scott in slot 188, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick225 Rnd7 Cody Jackson
Cody Jackson at pick No. 225 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
