Jaydog17 DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall
B-
ValueB

FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Chiefs, and a B- to prove it. Nobody else had Brett Norfleet anywhere near slot 175. The Chiefs did, by 57 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
That Alliegro pick is the receipt they will wave around later. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Leonard Moore
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a potential shutdown corner, outstanding value to boot. More want than need.
Pick63
Rnd2
Brendan Sorsby
This one needs a full-page explanation: Brendan Sorsby in No. 63, miles early. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick83
Rnd3
Nate Frazier
Taking Nate Frazier in slot 83 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. The roster fit checks out.
Pick95
Rnd3
Ian Strong
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Ian Strong. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick133
Rnd4
Cooper Barkate
Fair-plus on Cooper Barkate, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick168
Rnd5
Drew Azzopardi
A premium they did not need to pay, Drew Azzopardi a notch or two before his time. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick175
Rnd5
Brett Norfleet
Brett Norfleet at the 175th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick213
Rnd6
Eric Singleton Jr.
Circle this one: Eric Singleton Jr. at Round 6, Pick 32 is a fall that decides a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick255
Rnd7
Tavion Gadson
Tavion Gadson in slot 255 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick256
Rnd7
Christian Alliegro
You do not let a linebacker like Christian Alliegro reach pick No. 256 and blink. They did not. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
