Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall D+
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureA+
The Bengals bled value on every deal, hence the D+.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: Dylan Raiola in pick 81, a good 39 spots before the room expected him. Too much went sideways, and the D+ is the honest tally.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.

The Alexander steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, cornerback very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Jeremiah Smith
In pick No. 5 they get a weapon on the perimeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick6 Rnd1 Colin Simmons
In the Round 1 slot they get a problem off the edge at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick10 Rnd1 Cayden Green
In the 10th pick they get a building block for the line. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick48 Rnd2 Trey'Dez Green
They will replay Trey'Dez Green at the 48th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick81 Rnd3 Dylan Raiola
They left a pile of value on the table to take Dylan Raiola this early at Round 3, Pick 17. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick98 Rnd3 Bear Alexander
Circle this one: Bear Alexander at No. 98 is a fall that decides a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick118 Rnd4 Iapani Laloulu
You do not let an offensive lineman like Iapani Laloulu reach the 118th pick and blink. They did not. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick152 Rnd5 Brandon Inniss
Nice patience on Brandon Inniss, who had no business lasting to No. 152. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick232 Rnd7 Elinneus Davis
A quiet steal in pick 232: Elinneus Davis for less than the market said. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
