Jaydog17 DRAFTING FOR THEBears
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B-
ValueC+
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Bears won the night they stopped Tengesdahl from sliding. Grade: B-. Call it larceny. Evan Tengesdahl sat on the board until pick 127, and the Bears did not need to be asked twice.
If McCray pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Damon Wilson II
In No. 28 they get a disruptor off the edge, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick59
Rnd2
Ahmad Moten Sr.
They liked Ahmad Moten Sr. enough to skip the value, taking him in the 59th overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick90
Rnd3
Wyatt Young
Wyatt Young slipping to pick 90 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick127
Rnd4
Evan Tengesdahl
Somehow Evan Tengesdahl was still sitting there in slot 127, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick150
Rnd5
Cam Cook
Taking Cam Cook in Round 5, Pick 13 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick208
Rnd6
LJ McCray
Value said wait; LJ McCray in the Round 6 slot says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick245
Rnd7
Tunmise Adeleye
A big swing on Tunmise Adeleye at pick No. 245, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
