The board owed the Lions one, and it paid up: Jamari Sharpe, the No. 69 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 4 slot like a gift left on the doorstep. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

The Carter reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The linebacker hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but linebacker.
