The Chiefs left with their quarterback, and a B to match.

Start where it matters. The Chiefs took Julian Sayin to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

Cobb has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They banked enough surplus on Roberts to cover a lot of smaller sins.

The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Julian Sayin
In No. 9 they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40 Rnd2 Ryan Wingo
The board had cheaper options than Ryan Wingo at the 40th overall pick, and it noticed. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick74 Rnd3 Ben Roberts
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Ben Roberts in the 74th pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick109 Rnd4 Ian Strong
A slide stopped in Round 4, Pick 9, with Ian Strong worth more than the price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick146 Rnd5 Kemari Copeland
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kemari Copeland. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick176 Rnd5 Jeremiah Cobb
Value said wait; Jeremiah Cobb in pick No. 176 says they were not listening. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
