The Jaguars cashed the board's mistake on Washington: B.

Somebody in the Round 3 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Jaguars sat still while A'Mauri Washington, the No. 37 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They will need Miller to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up.

Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick56 Rnd2 David Stone
Steal is underselling it; David Stone at pick No. 56 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick81 Rnd3 Lance Heard
Somehow Lance Heard was still sitting there in No. 81, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick88 Rnd3 A'Mauri Washington
Taking A'Mauri Washington in slot 88 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick100 Rnd3 Omarion Miller
Omarion Miller at pick 100 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick124 Rnd4 Eli Bowen
Eli Bowen in the 124th overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick162 Rnd5 Aaron Flowers
They took Aaron Flowers at par in the 162nd pick, which is nothing to complain about. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick164 Rnd5 Kayin Lee
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kayin Lee in Round 5, Pick 26. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick233 Rnd7 John Mateer
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing John Mateer in the Round 7 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick245 Rnd7 Monroe Mills
Monroe Mills at pick 245 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
