FutureC
Best value of the weekend goes to the Bills for Curtis: C. When a board-topper like Mason Curtis slides to pick 228, you do not overthink it, and the Bills did not.
Collins has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.
If Andrew Sprague and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Andrew Sprague
In the Round 1 slot they get a plug-and-play piece up front, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick60
Rnd2
Nyck Harbor
Nyck Harbor at the 60th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick91
Rnd3
Faletau Satuala
Faletau Satuala at No. 91 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick126
Rnd4
Kameryn Crawford
They went early on Kameryn Crawford in pick No. 126, and the value did not follow. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick186
Rnd6
Anthony Colandrea
They jumped the gun on Anthony Colandrea, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It fills a real need, too.
Pick197
Rnd6
Payton Pierce
Taking Payton Pierce in pick 197 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick220
Rnd7
Thomas Collins
Thomas Collins at Round 7, Pick 4 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick228
Rnd7
Mason Curtis
Somehow Mason Curtis was still sitting there in the 228th pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
