Somebody in pick No. 51 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Cowboys sat still while CJ Carr, the No. 12 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Smith has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

In the end it comes back to Charlie Becker, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
