Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
B

FutureC+
The Packers won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B. Nobody else had Keaten Wade anywhere near pick 256. The Packers did, by 117 spots, and that gap is the whole story. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
However the rest shakes out, Rivers at that price is a win they earned. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
The Riley Moss deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. They went 8 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick62
Rnd2
Keith Abney II
You do not let a cornerback like Keith Abney II reach the 62nd overall pick and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick84
Rnd3
Jonah Coleman
The board had Jonah Coleman higher than pick No. 84, and the running back fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick120
Rnd4
Chandler Rivers
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Chandler Rivers in the 120th pick, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick122
Rnd4
Mikail Kamara
Mikail Kamara in Round 4, Pick 22 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick123
Rnd4
DeMonte Capehart
No drama and no debate, DeMonte Capehart went about where he belonged in pick 123. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick124
Rnd4
Harold Perkins Jr.
Harold Perkins Jr. at No. 124 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick125
Rnd4
Nadame Tucker
A big swing on Nadame Tucker at Round 4, Pick 25, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick160
Rnd5
Aamil Wagner
By-the-book stuff, Aamil Wagner at the 160th pick squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick164
Rnd5
DJ Campbell
A premium they did not need to pay, DJ Campbell a notch or two before his time. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick166
Rnd5
Pat Coogan
A real head-scratcher, Pat Coogan in pick No. 166 is miles ahead of his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick201
Rnd6
VJ Payne
Quietly one of the better values of the day, VJ Payne at the 201st overall pick. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick203
Rnd6
Dallen Bentley
A slide stopped in No. 203, with Dallen Bentley worth more than the price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick233
Rnd7
Wesley Bissainthe
Wesley Bissainthe in pick 233 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick236
Rnd7
Jeff Caldwell
Jeff Caldwell slid further than he should have, and the Round 7 slot is lovely value for the wide receiver. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick245
Rnd7
Jack Kelly
A conviction pick on Jack Kelly at the 245th overall pick that the board grades a round light. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick247
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Trey Zuhn III. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick255
Rnd7
Andre Fuller
They barely believed it either: Andre Fuller still on the board at pick 255. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick256
Rnd7
Keaten Wade
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Keaten Wade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick257
Rnd7
Joey Aguilar
Value said wait; Joey Aguilar in pick No. 257 says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
