Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Browns.

The Browns torched the value chart for Red Murdock, taking him 30 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Landing Sadiq that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

They went 6 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In pick 6 they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick24 Rnd1 Olaivavega Ioane
In pick No. 24 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A real need, handled.
Pick39 Rnd2 Kenyon Sadiq
They robbed the room for Kenyon Sadiq here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It fills a real need, too.
Pick70 Rnd3 A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy at the Round 3 slot is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick107 Rnd4 Caden Curry
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Caden Curry. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick139 Rnd5 Beau Stephens
No edge and no loss on Beau Stephens in the 139th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick144 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
No drama and no debate, Davison Igbinosun went about where he belonged in the Round 5 slot. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick147 Rnd5 Red Murdock
They talked themselves into Red Murdock at the 147th pick, and the board did not agree. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick204 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
They took Trey Zuhn III at par in the 204th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick248 Rnd7 Will Kacmarek
By-the-book stuff, Will Kacmarek at slot 248 squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
