FutureF
The Packers reached for Davis and never recovered. Grade: F. The Packers looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Fred Davis at the 252nd pick regardless, 112 picks early. There is no dressing it up: a F.
However the rest shakes out, Simon at that price is a win they earned. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.
Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
In the 24th pick they get a potential shutdown corner at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick25
Rnd1
Mason Graham
In pick No. 25 they get a wrecking ball inside, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick26
Rnd1
Abdul Carter
In Round 1, Pick 26 they get a double-digit-sack hope, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick27
Rnd1
Jack Sawyer
In No. 27 they get juice off the edge at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick56
Rnd2
Jalon Walker
Jalon Walker at pick 56 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick88
Rnd3
Jayden Higgins
Value with a capital V on Jayden Higgins in slot 88, a genuine coup. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick125
Rnd4
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson at pick No. 125 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick159
Rnd5
Jake Majors
They robbed the room for Jake Majors here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick160
Rnd5
Mason Taylor
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Mason Taylor in slot 160, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick199
Rnd6
Cody Simon
Cody Simon in Round 6, Pick 24 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick201
Rnd6
Tyler Batty
Tyler Batty at the Round 6 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick208
Rnd6
Jasheen Davis
They reached into another round for Jasheen Davis, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick211
Rnd6
Jonah Monheim
They paid sticker price for Jonah Monheim in the 211th pick, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick213
Rnd6
Jordan Hancock
They will replay Jordan Hancock at the 213th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick218
Rnd7
Nohl Williams
A real head-scratcher, Nohl Williams in pick No. 218 is miles ahead of his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick235
Rnd7
Jared Wilson
The board fumbled Jared Wilson all the way to the Round 7 slot, and they scooped it up. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick237
Rnd7
Garrett Dellinger
Garrett Dellinger in No. 237 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick246
Rnd7
Jack Kiser
You do not let a linebacker like Jack Kiser reach the 246th overall pick and blink. They did not. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick250
Rnd7
KJ Jefferson
This one needs a full-page explanation: KJ Jefferson in the 250th pick, miles early. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick252
Rnd7
Fred Davis
Value said wait; Fred Davis in pick 252 says they were not listening. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
