The Steelers bled value on every deal, hence the B-. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Steelers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Reese falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In slot 21 they get a three-down second-level presence at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick76
Rnd3
Ja'Kobi Lane
A tidy little value on Ja'Kobi Lane in pick 76, a step better than break-even. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick99
Rnd3
Zachariah Branch
A reach on Zachariah Branch in the Round 3 slot; the board had better options right there. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
