Jaybeast17 DRAFTING FOR THEBroncos
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall
C+

FutureB-
Grand theft in No. 247: the Broncos steal Mendoza and grade out a C+. You could see the war room lean forward. Fernando Mendoza at the Round 7 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Call it a C+ and check back in two years.
The cost of the Leckner reach is exactly the players who went right after him. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Denzel Boston
In the Round 1 slot they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick64
Rnd2
Tim Keenan III
A wild overpay on Tim Keenan III in pick No. 64, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick96
Rnd3
Max Klare
Max Klare at the 96th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick107
Rnd4
Trey Leckner
They reached into another round for Trey Leckner, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick132
Rnd4
Harold Perkins Jr.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Harold Perkins Jr. in pick 132, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick172
Rnd5
Jeremiah Cobb
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jeremiah Cobb in Round 5, Pick 32, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick247
Rnd7
Fernando Mendoza
Circle this one: Fernando Mendoza at No. 247 is a fall that decides a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick251
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Trey Zuhn III in the 251st overall pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick252
Rnd7
Daylen Everette
The board fumbled Daylen Everette all the way to No. 252, and they scooped it up. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick257
Rnd7
Dane Key
Dane Key at the 257th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
