Quarterback settled, Manning in the fold, and a D for the Raiders.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Raiders spent pick 173 on Malachi Singleton, a name the board had a full 329 spots lower.

The whole projection now runs through Arch Manning; hit there and everything else looks smarter. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They banked enough surplus on Wheatley to cover a lot of smaller sins.

The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.

Malachi Singleton at the Round 5 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.

Quietly one of the better values of the day, Drayk Bowen at slot 221. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
