The Raiders answered their biggest question with Mendoza. Grade: A-. The Raiders torched the value chart for Eric Gentry, taking him 129 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. This is how you run a draft, and the A- reflects it.
Fernando Mendoza gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. The McDonald pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
With edge rusher and tight end unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.
Bottom line, with Fernando Mendoza leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
