The Raiders spent the pick that matters most on Fernando Mendoza, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

That Pavia pick is the receipt they will wave around later. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. They will need Smith to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
