The Saints spent the pick that matters most on Ty Simpson, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

They banked enough surplus on Lance to cover a lot of smaller sins. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Reaching for Simpson left real value on the table behind him.
