Jax728 DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs

Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall

FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Chiefs. The Chiefs' one glaring miss is wide receiver, a need they left exactly as they found it. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
The Allen value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The cost of the Thomas reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They left with tight end solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
R Mason Thomas
In pick 9 they get a bendy edge with upside, reach and all. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40
Rnd2
LT Overton
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on LT Overton. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick74
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
The board had Eli Stowers higher than slot 74, and the tight end fell to them anyway. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick109
Rnd4
Kaytron Allen
Kaytron Allen in Round 4, Pick 9 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It fills a real need, too.
Pick146
Rnd5
Aaron Graves
A premium they did not need to pay, Aaron Graves a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick176
Rnd5
Oscar Delp
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 176 with a little surplus value in Oscar Delp. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
