Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Vikings, and a B- to prove it.

Everything else got attention, and edge rusher got none. That is a strange way for the Vikings to leave a draft. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Jermod McCoy
In No. 18 they get a sticky cover corner. Need was not the driver here.
Pick50 Rnd2 Isaiah World
A straight-up fair deal on Isaiah World at the 50th pick, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick82 Rnd3 Jaeden Roberts
They paid sticker price for Jaeden Roberts in the 82nd overall pick, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick97 Rnd3 Harold Perkins Jr.
Harold Perkins Jr. at Round 3, Pick 33 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick118 Rnd4 Charles Jagusah
A reasonable price with a little left over, Charles Jagusah in pick 118. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick157 Rnd5 Desmond Reid
Fair-plus on Desmond Reid, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick173 Rnd5 Noah Fifita
A market-rate quarterback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Noah Fifita. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick196 Rnd6 Pat Coogan
Pat Coogan at the Round 6 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick208 Rnd6 Lawson Luckie
No drama and no debate, Lawson Luckie went about where he belonged in pick 208. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick231 Rnd7 PJ Williams
They took PJ Williams at par in the Round 7 slot, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
