Tkodger DRAFTING FOR THETexans
Draft Grade — Texans

The Texans let Banks fall into their laps, and walked away with a B. The board owed the Texans one, and it paid up: Caleb Banks, the No. 27 name on the board, sitting there at pick 69 like a gift left on the doorstep. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Pregnon has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Job largely done: running back settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Emmanuel Pregnon
In the 28th overall pick they get a blindside protector, though the board says they badly overpaid. A real need, handled.
Pick38
Rnd2
Gennings Dunker
A tidy bit of business in the 38th pick, where Gennings Dunker graded well above the range. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick59
Rnd2
Jonah Coleman
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jonah Coleman at Round 2, Pick 27 is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick69
Rnd3
Caleb Banks
Caleb Banks at No. 69 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
