Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall C
ValueC NeedB+ TradesF FutureC+
The Seahawks got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the C.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Seahawks did exactly that with Kaidon Salter in the 214th overall pick. It washes out to a C, no better and no worse.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Fletcher Jr. falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Spencer Fano
Spencer Fano in the 11th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick27 Rnd1 Taurean York
In the 27th pick they get the heartbeat of the defense, a steep price for the projection. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick75 Rnd3 Jack Endries
They reached into another round for Jack Endries, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick111 Rnd4 Eric O'Neill
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Eric O'Neill well ahead of where he belonged. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick150 Rnd5 Duce Robinson
Duce Robinson at slot 150 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick180 Rnd6 Mark Fletcher Jr.
Mark Fletcher Jr. in pick 180 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick189 Rnd6 Ricardo Hallman
Ricardo Hallman in slot 189 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick214 Rnd6 Kaidon Salter
Kaidon Salter at the 214th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
