Draft Grade — Saints
Overall
B-

FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Saints, and a B- to prove it. The Saints clearly saw something nobody else did in Carson Beck, taking him 36 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. They went 2 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Makai Lemon
In the 8th overall pick they get a true top target. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick42
Rnd2
Carson Beck
This one needs a full-page explanation: Carson Beck in Round 2, Pick 10, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick73
Rnd3
Harold Perkins Jr.
Harold Perkins Jr. in pick No. 73 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
