Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Ravens, and a B- to prove it.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Ravens did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to interior defensive lineman, which was the need that mattered most.

On value alone, Taylor makes the weekend a net positive. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 A.J. Harris
In the 31st overall pick they get a potential shutdown corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick63 Rnd2 Eugene Wilson III
Eugene Wilson III in the Round 2 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
Pick95 Rnd3 D'Angelo Ponds
D'Angelo Ponds at No. 95 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick131 Rnd4 Darius Taylor
Darius Taylor is a better player than slot 131 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick143 Rnd5 Isaac Smith
Isaac Smith in pick 143 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick170 Rnd5 Jahiem White
Fair-plus on Jahiem White, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It fills a real need, too.
Pick172 Rnd5 Conner Weigman
By-the-book stuff, Conner Weigman at Round 5, Pick 34 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick175 Rnd5 Jordan Castell
They paid sticker price for Jordan Castell in the 175th pick, and that is fine. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick244 Rnd7 Riley Williams
Riley Williams in slot 244 is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick246 Rnd7 Da'Shawn Womack
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Da'Shawn Womack. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
