The Lions did not so much draft Tyler Van Dyke as overpay for him, 65 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

The Fifita pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The linebacker spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but linebacker.
