Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall
D+
ValueB-
NeedB

FutureC+
The Cowboys got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D+. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Tristan Leigh at slot 148 is 43 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D+ is the result.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Anthony Hill Jr.
In the 9th pick they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick41
Rnd2
Derrick Moore
A straight-up fair deal on Derrick Moore at pick 41, value and slot in agreement. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick109
Rnd4
Justice Haynes
The board had cheaper options than Justice Haynes at No. 109, and it noticed. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick148
Rnd5
Tristan Leigh
Tristan Leigh in the 148th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick177
Rnd6
Daevin Hobbs
A reach on Daevin Hobbs in pick No. 177; the board had better options right there. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
