The board owed the Chiefs one, and it paid up: Kenyon Sadiq, the No. 20 name on the board, sitting there at the 40th pick like a gift left on the doorstep. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. The roster is better shaped than it was, with tight end chief among the fixes.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
