The rest of the league had time to spare on Blake Shapen; the Chargers did not wait, grabbing him 28 spots ahead at pick No. 256. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
