Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Bills checked most of the boxes and earned a B. Every other box got a look, but linebacker did not. The Bills will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with.
That Thieneman pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the linebacker spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Chris Bell
They paid sticker price for Chris Bell in the 26th overall pick, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick60
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman is a better player than pick No. 60 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick91
Rnd3
Anthony Lucas
Anthony Lucas in the 91st pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
