No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Bears.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Bears walked out of the weekend still thin at edge rusher, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 Malik Muhammad
In slot 16 they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick48 Rnd2 Kevin Concepcion
No drama and no debate, Kevin Concepcion went about where he belonged in the Round 2 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick80 Rnd3 Mansoor Delane
They paid sticker price for Mansoor Delane in Round 3, Pick 16, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick126 Rnd4 Jyaire Hill
Jyaire Hill in the 126th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick155 Rnd5 Antonio Kite
Nothing to complain about; Antonio Kite went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick194 Rnd6 Daevin Hobbs
Daevin Hobbs at the 194th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.

Ty Simpson in pick 229 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.

King Mack in pick No. 248 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
