Jaybeast17 DRAFTING FOR THEBrowns
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
D+
ValueF
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Browns have some explaining to do after a D+. There is reaching, and then there is Trey Holly at the Round 1 slot. The Browns jumped the board by 296 and dared it to prove them wrong.
However the rest shakes out, Jacas at that price is a win they earned. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
Trey Holly
In pick 2 they get a featured back, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
Pick21
Rnd1
Kadyn Proctor
In the 21st overall pick they get a blindside protector, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38
Rnd2
Makhi Hughes
They left a pile of value on the table to take Makhi Hughes this early at No. 38. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick69
Rnd3
Zachariah Branch
This one needs a full-page explanation: Zachariah Branch in the 69th pick, miles early. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick104
Rnd4
Kenyatta Jackson Jr.
Kenyatta Jackson Jr. at slot 104 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick144
Rnd5
Trey Moore
A big swing on Trey Moore at pick No. 144, well ahead of any board in the building. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick148
Rnd5
Kamari Ramsey
Kamari Ramsey at pick No. 148 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick149
Rnd5
Ar'maj Reed-Adams
Nothing to complain about; Ar'maj Reed-Adams went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick241
Rnd7
Gentry Williams
Gentry Williams at No. 241 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick243
Rnd7
Gabe Jacas
Gabe Jacas in the Round 7 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
