Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
D+
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesF
FutureA
The Titans robbed the room for Love. Final grade: D+. The Titans lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. It grades a D+, and the process earned it.
They punted on offensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Williams has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Love at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The Kolton Miller deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, offensive lineman very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Keldric Faulk
In slot 7 they get a premier pass rusher at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick35
Rnd2
Zachariah Branch
Good price on Zachariah Branch in pick No. 35, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick39
Rnd2
Jeremiyah Love
Jeremiyah Love at the 39th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick67
Rnd3
CJ Allen
Circle this one: CJ Allen at the 67th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. It fills a real need, too.
Pick103
Rnd4
Isaiah Nwokobia
Fair-plus on Isaiah Nwokobia, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick126
Rnd4
Jeremiah Wilson
Jeremiah Wilson in the Round 4 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick181
Rnd6
Hykeem Williams
They liked Hykeem Williams enough to skip the value, taking him in the 181st pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick204
Rnd6
Kelby Collins
Kelby Collins at No. 204 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick216
Rnd6
Marquis Johnson
Nothing to complain about; Marquis Johnson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick224
Rnd7
Haynes King
They paid a round early for Haynes King in Round 7, Pick 8, more than the board wanted. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
