Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Vikings, and a B to prove it.

Nobody else had Jordan White anywhere near Round 5, Pick 35. The Vikings did, by 43 spots, and that gap is the whole story. The bottom line is a respectable B.

The Moore Jr. pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 LT Overton
In slot 18 they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick50 Rnd2 Eric Singleton Jr.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Eric Singleton Jr. in Round 2, Pick 18, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick82 Rnd3 Jonah Coleman
Jonah Coleman at the 82nd pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. It fills a real need, too.
Pick97 Rnd3 DeAndre Moore Jr.
DeAndre Moore Jr. at the Round 3 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick118 Rnd4 Rod Moore
Rod Moore in the 118th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick157 Rnd5 Cayden Lee
They let Cayden Lee come to them and pounced at pick 157. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick173 Rnd5 Jordan White
Jordan White at pick 173 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick196 Rnd6 Noah Fifita
They barely believed it either: Noah Fifita still on the board at the 196th overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick208 Rnd6 Kevin Jennings
You do not let a quarterback like Kevin Jennings reach No. 208 and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick231 Rnd7 J.C. Davis
Nothing to complain about; J.C. Davis went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
