Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Eagles, and a B to prove it.

There is reaching, and then there is Princewill Umanmielen at No. 136. The Eagles jumped the board by 79 and dared it to prove them wrong. The bottom line is a respectable B.

That Concepcion pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Jermod McCoy
In the 30th pick they get a lockdown presence outside, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick62 Rnd2 Nyck Harbor
Nyck Harbor in the Round 2 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick68 Rnd3 Chase Bisontis
They reached into another round for Chase Bisontis, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick94 Rnd3 Kevin Concepcion
Somehow Kevin Concepcion was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 30, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick99 Rnd3 Eric O'Neill
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Eric O'Neill. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick130 Rnd4 Kaytron Allen
Steal is underselling it; Kaytron Allen at the 130th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick136 Rnd4 Princewill Umanmielen
Princewill Umanmielen at slot 136 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick159 Rnd5 John Mateer
A quarterback of that caliber at the 159th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick169 Rnd5 Jermaine Mathews Jr.
Jermaine Mathews Jr. at the 169th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick178 Rnd6 Bear Alexander
They reached a country mile for Bear Alexander at pick 178, and the board is aghast. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick191 Rnd6 Jordan Castell
A slide stopped in No. 191, with Jordan Castell worth more than the price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick243 Rnd7 J.Michael Sturdivant
You do not let a wide receiver like J.Michael Sturdivant reach the Round 7 slot and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
