Honimbo DRAFTING FOR THEEagles
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Eagles: B-. Nobody had Gabe Jacas this high, and it is not close. The Eagles reached 42 spots to get him at the 54th pick. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Getting Ponds where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Romello Height
In the 23rd pick they get juice off the edge, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick54
Rnd2
Gabe Jacas
They left a pile of value on the table to take Gabe Jacas this early at pick No. 54. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick68
Rnd3
Anthony Lucas
They reached into another round for Anthony Lucas, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick98
Rnd3
Boubacar Traore
A wild overpay on Boubacar Traore in slot 98, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick122
Rnd4
D'Angelo Ponds
D'Angelo Ponds is a better player than No. 122 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick138
Rnd4
CJ Daniels
A tidy little value on CJ Daniels in pick 138, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick152
Rnd5
Tanner Koziol
They paid sticker price for Tanner Koziol in the 152nd overall pick, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick180
Rnd5
Jaydn Ott
They read the board right and Jaydn Ott was the payoff at slot 180. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick202
Rnd6
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in Round 6, Pick 22 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
