Draft Grade — Packers

The Packers won the night they stopped Coleman from sliding. Grade: C.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jonah Coleman, the No. 47 name on the board, stolen at the Round 7 slot. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C in the wash.

Wilson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.

Pick Analysis
Pick52 Rnd2 Gracen Halton
A big swing on Gracen Halton at the 52nd pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick84 Rnd3 Jerry Wilson
They reached into another round for Jerry Wilson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick120 Rnd4 Isaiah Jatta
Isaiah Jatta in the Round 4 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick158 Rnd5 Carnell Tate
Carnell Tate in No. 158 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick201 Rnd6 Robert Spears-Jennings
They reached a country mile for Robert Spears-Jennings at pick No. 201, and the board is aghast. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick236 Rnd7 Darrell Jackson Jr.
Darrell Jackson Jr. at the 236th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick254 Rnd7 Kayin Lee
Kayin Lee in pick 254 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick257 Rnd7 Jonah Coleman
They will replay Jonah Coleman at Round 7, Pick 41 for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
