Thomas falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. With cornerback, linebacker and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on edge rusher is the choice that costs them. They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
