Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall C+
ValueD NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A weekend that raised as many questions as it answered. The Jaguars get a C+.

The Jaguars torched the value chart for Jaleel Skinner, taking him 190 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.

Landing Lee III that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

If Markel Bell and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick Analysis
Pick56 Rnd2 Markel Bell
Markel Bell in No. 56 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick81 Rnd3 Chris Bell
The board fumbled Chris Bell all the way to slot 81, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick88 Rnd3 Anthony Lucas
Anthony Lucas in pick No. 88 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick100 Rnd3 Emmett Johnson
The board had Emmett Johnson higher than the Round 3 slot, and the running back fell to them anyway. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick124 Rnd4 Ahmaad Moses
They left a pile of value on the table to take Ahmaad Moses this early at Round 4, Pick 24. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick162 Rnd5 Will Lee III
Will Lee III in the 162nd overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick164 Rnd5 Skyler Gill-Howard
Steal is underselling it; Skyler Gill-Howard at the Round 5 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick233 Rnd7 Korey Foreman
A real head-scratcher, Korey Foreman in Round 7, Pick 17 is miles ahead of his ranking. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick245 Rnd7 Jaleel Skinner
Jaleel Skinner at pick No. 245 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A need, and now a little less of one.
