Jaybeast17 DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Chiefs, and a B- to prove it. The Chiefs clearly saw something nobody else did in Dasan McCullough, taking him 143 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
Landing Golday that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Rueben Bain Jr.
In pick No. 9 they get a problem off the edge at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick40
Rnd2
Jeremiyah Love
You do not let a running back like Jeremiyah Love reach the 40th pick and blink. They did not. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick74
Rnd3
Jack Endries
Jack Endries in the 74th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick109
Rnd4
Jake Golday
Jake Golday at No. 109 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick146
Rnd5
Fernando Carmona
They left a pile of value on the table to take Fernando Carmona this early at pick 146. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick176
Rnd5
Dasan McCullough
They reached a country mile for Dasan McCullough at Round 5, Pick 38, and the board is aghast. It does not line up with the team's obvious holes.
